Minesweeper King

One day, I will become Minesweeper King. I will have the best Minesweeper times in the world. Minesweeper is a simple, yet very addictive game. I have become insanely addicted to it at times. So much so, that I start to dream of Minesweeper, and whenever I close my eyes, I think of Minesweeper.

My current times…
Beginner: 7
Intermediate: 43
Expert: 142

Anyone got a better time?

As you can tell, today’s subject was less than philosophical.

EDIT: I’m not so obsessed that I’ll go for best in the world, but I’m obsessed enough just to be better than those who I know personally. Don’t bother telling me your times; I know there are plenty people with better times. Another note: my times have changed since this post.

I have gotten 36 seconds on intermediate minesweeper and 99 seconds in expert without cheating. I have found posts and sites where others have claimed outrageous times such as 3 seconds or less on beginner but i think they are full of it. Expert can be done in less than 90 seconds though as i have been close but blown up on the last bomb before. Thank you for reading my message.

I have a 37 on intermediate and 112 on expert –I’ve done under 120 on beginner multiple times, and can get under 150 for 90% of boards that don’t require guessing. I don’t play beginner much — my best is 10 secs.

I’ve seen videos of 1-second (and 2 and 3 sec) beginner times. It’s very much possible. In one, the first click cleared the entire board, except for one square, which was easily deduced. As long as you get it before the clock switches to 2, you’ve got a 1-seconder. sub-50 second expert times are also achievable, but the way these guys click out bombs is quite amazing. See http://metanoodle.com/minesweeper/ for minesweeper screen capture videos.

    And check out this guy:

He claims to have scored expert under 60-seconds 11870 times, and under 50s 1018 of those.

I have done beginner in 1 sec. Intermedia in 26 sec and expert in 96 sec. Wolrd record are 1 sec,9 sec and 41 sec. All of those are proven with Camtasia videos. To complete beginner in a sec you have have great luck: board that can be completed with two or three clicks. This means thounsands of games. World record are here http://www.metanoodle.com/minesweeper

Your times are quite amazing. I really don’t think I suck at the game, but my times are no way near yours.
    Beginner 7sec; intermediate 45sec; expert 150sec;
Is there a trick to get faster or is most of it just luck?
    So long!

    I’ve got..
    Beginner: 3
    Intermediate: 27
    Expert: 94
    (without cheating)
But how do you take a picture of your “winning” board game to prove it??

my best in beginner is 5 seconds, and
thats by fucking coincedence!! you don’t have to be good if you’re having a time like that…

I just got 157 seconds on expert. I don’t know about you guys but I always click a few times on the main board until I get a good setup. Do you consider that as cheating?

Begginner and Intermediate are pointless – mainly luck.

    Beginner: 6 secs

    Intermediate: 37 secs

    Expert 123 secs

Try doing a 24×30 grid with 150 mines, more dense than expert. i can do in 190 secs.

A cool game is Crazy minesweeper, not as good as the classic, but is good.

Btw if u want a quicker time, theres no need to flag every single mine, as long as u uncover the surrounding squares. – mine flagging wastes the most time.
I can complete expert games without using a single flag

    Have a try ;)

Its not hard to work down to 100s, but to get the next 30s (in my experience) requires…. luck, and the ability to be thinking something utterly unrelated while you play. Make it instincive, instead of thinking it through.
