The Clothes Totally Make the Man

Note: I decided to split up the originally planned giganterrific entry into at least two parts. Here’s number one.

I love dressing up. I always look so much damn nicer and fashionable. The other day, for Mass (I go to a Catholic school), it was a mandatory dress-up day. Why? New bishop in town. I don’t like them telling us it’s mandatory, but hey, I bought a nice suit, and I’m going to get my money’s worth.

I wore my tannish shirt, which looks almost gray in the right lighting with my blue tie. Suit jacket. Suit pants.

Oh yeah, and the blue tie: silk and striped. It is a sexy tie. I should take a picture of it.

To excentuate the look of the awesome business man, I stuck a dollar bill in my front coat pocket (normally where maybe a handkerchief would go). “Here’s a dollar, go buy yourself a life,” I said. I knew I looked slick, and I got some compliments, even from the principal.

Usually, when I’m up presenting for class, I’m rather nervous. Or, I can be nervous. My leg will shake if I’m not careful. I try to be calm inside, and usually I am, but my damn body won’t let me be 100 percent calm. No problems in the suit during the latest presentation. And I realize, the clothes do make the man.

I also must say: the dollar bill is the best suit accessory ever. Just make sure no one takes it, or that you’re so rich it doesn’t matter.

Yeah dressing up definitely raises confidence

I wouldn’t mind having to dress up in a uniform with a tie, a blazer, etc. That’s how they do it in Hong Kong. Old school.

I wish we had uniforms, I hate having to keep up with the stupid trends, not that I do, I think dressing to the trends wet by tv people and pop culture just encourages people to judge by your appearance as they’re already brainwashed and programmed to do since childhood, the fools, minions to manufacturers and the media and they don’t even know it, it’s a shame. Anyway the only probably is when I do dress up, people say I look nice and all, but guys are always trying to look down my shirt or are straing at me in class, so I usually don’t dress frumpy, just loosly fitted shirt, usually ones that make me blend in with the chair (the less the teachers notice you, the less they call on you and disturb you from your meditation or conteplation on philosophy, or analization of another book, or reading, or most commonly, hw for another subject left until the last minute) and a pair a jeans, preferably on the baggy side. I hate looking younger than I am when it comes to school, I’m assumed to be quiet and shy and not too bright or well spoken, the sterio typical idiot blonde. Not so much now, but still enough to piss me off, no one takes me seriously, even when I do dress modestly. I even caught my good freind matt trying to look down my shirt when i dressed up for school spirit week not like any of us actually had anyschool spirit, we just liked it as an excuse for extra points on tests and act like obnocious jerks. But I love to dress up when theres nobody to notice me. I love doing my make up and my hair and picking out an outfit, tho I would never admit this since I have a rep for hating all that stuff, but the truth is, It’s fun, I used to want to be a fasio designer actually, but that was before i went thru puberty and people started treating me like a dumb blonde and stopped listening to me. Now I want to run my own independent coffe shop, but i still let myself draw an outfit in my sketch book everynow and then, I just keep it in the one i never let anyone see. It would ruin me if i dressed up all the time. I dressed up once and all of a sudden the cheerleaders were talking to me and the jocks were hittin on me and none of them even glanced at any of my friends. I couldn’t do that. I’ve had too many friends do that to me and unlike them, i don’t forget.
